Description
Bicycle Film Festival is international festival that has traveled to over 50 countries and has been seen be millions of people. Having hosted two Bicycle Film Festivals (BFF) virtually in 2020 and 2021, BFC is excited to be bringing an in-person Bicycle Film Festival to town in 2023. Similar to our other events, we'll need various volunteers to help us pull off a successful evening. Sign-up today and we'll be in touch as the event gets closer.

Description
Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) is part of the League of American Bicyclists’ Bicycle Friendly America (BFA) program. “Bicycle Friendly” certifications can be earned by states, communities (cities), universities and businesses. Organizations within these categories can apply and earn levels, such as Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Is your business or employer a certified BFB? If so and you had something to do with it, this could be for you. This BFC program entails BFC volunteers helping to provide workshops, mentorship, and application support and review to businesses interested in applying for a BFB certification. BFC’s BFB Network Team, has played a significant role in Fort Collins having the most BFBs in the country. And we're excited to enlist more businesses, help businesses to level up—continuing to positively influence the bike culture of Fort Collins.

Description
Traditionally, following each summer and winter Bike to Work Day (see below), working with O'Dell Brewing Company, BFC hosts the Bike From Work Bash. A fun culminating event (typically from 4:00P-7:00P) to a great day filled with bikes where everyone who arrives at O'Dell by bike receives a FREE beer, plus a chance to win sweet swag and prizes. We always need volunteers to help greet/welcome attendees, as well as get them registered for the prize drawing.

Description
Bike Prom is the most fun bicycle-themed event in Fort Collins (just behind Tour de Fat :)) and happens each year as part of June Bike Month festivities. This is a can't-miss party with fun and eclectic themes. Watch for more information in the spring, as we gear up each year But rest-assured, we'll need volunteers to help us pull it off. If you enjoy a great party, volunteering for Bike Prom could be for you.

Description
Bike to Work Day is a City of Fort Collins hosted event, celebrated once in the summer (June) in conjunction with Colorado Bike Month, and once in the winter (February). Independent of which one, the event entails just what it says, riding your bike to work--or since COVID began, to "Wherever." Except on this day it includes 25-60 bike station sponsors spread throughout the city’s low stress network of bikeways and bike trails, providing everything from food, drink, music, fun and camaraderie as people make their way to work (or wherever). Bike Fort Collins is proud to participate at a station during each Bike to Work Day where we can always use help staffing our station, handing out goodies and swag, and talking "bikes."

This committee develops and executes the fundraising strategy for Bike Fort Collins. This includes but is not be limited to confirming, prioritizing and hosting or participation in the key fundraising events for the year, executing strategies to maximize our fundraising campaigns, as well as working with our Program Committee in identifying appropriate grant funds to potentially pursue.

This could entail helping staff a booth or table at local events (not otherwise listed as a Project here) where we promote all the great programs that we have, as well as advocate for practicing safe cycling, or even helping on a group ride.

Working very closely with the Development Committee and Program Committee, as well as our Community Relations Coordinator, this committee helps determine the overall marketing strategy and communication plan for Bike Fort Collins. This entails streamlining and coordinating efficient and effective marketing communication plans and tactics for each program and event to ensure reach to all appropriate target audiences.

Description
Open Streets has been taking place in Fort Collins for several years and is a growing movement across the country. Open Streets entails closing a one-to-two mile stretch of city street and infrastructure to cars so that bikes and pedestrians can have uninhibited access while various programs and activities also take place along the route. Bike Fort Collins will have a booth to engage in conversation with the public about our programs, bike safety, bike advocacy and even let people take our Legal or Not Quiz. We can always use the help and the company staffing our booth.

Description
This committee manages and evolves the overall program strategy for Bike Fort Collins and works closely with the Development Committee to ensure all programs are adequately funded. This primarily includes determining our bicycle advocacy strategy/plan, ultimately including focus initiatives and their prioritization, as well as determining the growth plan for other programs like Safe Routes to School, Active Living and Bicycle Friendly Business, and/or any new/future programs to pursue, create or introduce to the organization.

While our Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Instructors are ultimately paid positions, we have instructors begin as volunteers to 1) allow you to ensure it's the right fit for you and, 2) enable you to train/learn so that once we add you to the payroll, you can hit the ground running as an SRTS instructor. When you sign-up for this James Herzog, our Safe Routes to School Instructional Coordinator will follow up with you.

Description
Tour de Farms is a 35-40 mile, ½-day+ ride that begins begins and ends at the farmer's market, or local brewery. It is led by BFC representatives and features a combination of paved and gravel roads, along with 2-3 stops at local area farms. Each farm stop features light tastings and refreshments along with a few words from each farm owner/ representative. Each year we need volunteers to help with things like event registration, ride leaders (LCI certification required), and/or support at local farms, or the brewery/event after the ride.

Tour de Fat is an annual event hosted by Fort Collins-based, New Belgium Brewing Company. It is an event day packed full of FREE festivities celebrating beer, bikes, and bemusement. We historically need over 200 volunteers for this event each year to help with various stations, ranging from parade support, to beer token sales, to information booths, to clean up. Includes volunteer perks--and a post-event volunteer reception with more FREE beer.

Description

Wish for Wheels FoCo is a customized Bike/Build/Give Event and joint effort between Bike Fort Collins and Denver-based, Wish For Wheels to bring a FREE bike and helmet to every 2nd-grader in Poudre School District’s Title 1 elementary schools. We spend the summer/early fall raising funds to cover 350+ bikes and helmets, but then they need to be assembled and delivered. Beginning with a separate 'build day,' (typically in October); we need volunteers to help assemble all the bikes (no technical/mechanic skills necessary). Then via separate TBD distribution events in the week(s) that follow the build day, that we coordinate with each school, we also need volunteers to help us physically deliver the bikes to the students (and help fit their bike and helmet).
